The Pegasus Spyware Explained

Pegasus is a spyware developed by an Israeli Tech company, The NSO Group. The spyware is named after the mythical winged horse Pegasus-it is a trojan horse that can be sent "through the air" to infect the phones.
It is basically used by the Governments around the world to keep a track on the criminals and terrorists. The spyware has the capability of installing on any android device and on all recent ios versions upto ios 14.6.
According to the Washington Post and other prominent media sources, Pegasus not only can take control on your texts, emails, web searches but it can also enable phone call and location details, while permitting The NSO Group to fully hijack the
mobile's microphone and camera, without letting the preson know it's presence (since it is used to spy on criminals and terrorists).
But recently it came in light because it has been revealed that hundreds of phones in India have become a target of this spyware
Pegasus can infect a device without the target's engagement or knowledge. The NSO Group also declared that no American citizen will come under their attack. Why it is so? Are we Indians not concerned about our security. Definitely yes, we are concerned about our privacy and security. It has been known to infect the smartphones of many ministers, journalists, news anchors and other prominent personalities in India. WhatsApp has also officially confirmed that in 2019 around 1400 of it's users have become a victim of this Pegasus spyware.
Either way the capability of 'network injection'
attacks performed remotely without the target's engagement (hence, also called zero
click) or knowledge, thus making Pegasus a very deadly spyware
So their is basically no way by which we can stay safe from this spyware. The only thing you can do this is update your phone and apps so that the breacholes can be identified and fixed and by not clicking on any unknown links and emails or anything like that. As it can infect your phone with just sending messages (not even need to be clicked) or random phone calls.
But I don't think that it will attack a common man's phone.(probably not to worry about)

So that was a small updare about what is happening in the world of tech. Hope you liked it. And stay tuned till the next one.
THANK YOU.
